Tiger Shroff is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi films. Born on March 2, 1990, to actors Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Dutt, he made his acting debut in the action-romance film Heropanti (2014), winning the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male. Shroff gained popularity with successful action films such as Baaghi (2016), Baaghi 2 (2018), and War (2019). However, his subsequent films like Heropanti 2 (2021), Ganapath (2023), and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024) did not perform well at the box office.

In addition to acting, Shroff co-founded the mixed martial arts organization Matrix Fight Night (MFN) in 2019. He has also featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2018 and 2019. As a singer, Shroff has released several singles.

Early Life and Background
Jai Hemant Shroff, known as Tiger Shroff, was born to Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Dutt. He has a younger sister named Krishna. Shroff’s heritage includes Gujarati and Turkmen ancestry on his father’s side, and Bengali and Belgian descent on his mother’s side. His maternal grandfather was Air Vice Marshal Ranjan Dutt, a Vir Chakra awardee. A devout Hindu and devotee of Lord Shiva, Shroff fasts every Monday and during the Mahashivaratri festival. He studied at the American School of Bombay and is trained in martial arts, holding a fifth-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Career
Early Work and Success (2012–2020)
Shroff began his career with Heropanti in 2014, a commercial success despite mixed reviews. He was praised for his action sequences and dancing skills but criticized for his acting and dialogue delivery. He then starred in Baaghi (2016), a hit at the box office. However, his subsequent films A Flying Jatt (2016) and Munna Michael (2017) did not do well.

In 2018, Baaghi 2 was a major success, establishing Shroff as a prominent action star. His role in Student of the Year 2 (2019) received mixed reviews, but he bounced back with the blockbuster War (2019), which became his highest-grossing film.

Decline (2021–Present)
Shroff’s career saw a downturn with Heropanti 2 (2022) and Ganapath (2023), both of which were commercial failures. His latest film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), also performed poorly at the box office.

Other Work
Shroff is also involved in mixed martial arts. In 2017, he became the brand ambassador and co-owner of Bengaluru Tigers, a team in the Super Fight League, India’s first MMA league. The team secured third place in the inaugural season. Shroff is also the brand ambassador for several brands, including Pepsi, ASICS India, Casio India, and Garnier.
