Starting with a supporting role in “Biwi Ho To Aisi” (1988), Khan rose to prominence with his lead role in “Maine Pyar Kiya” (1989), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Throughout the 1990s, he delivered several commercially successful films like “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” (1994) and “Karan Arjun” (1995).
